25 July Personal Day. Presented BSSB's support for the $1.2 million project at the <br />Potawatomi Conservatories. Also provided financial and grant information for Council <br />members for questions to Mayor and Phil St. Clairc. The Ordinance passed unanimously! <br />26 July Took HPC vehicle in for repairs. On site visits with Steve Szaday to 1322 <br />LWE and 824 Forest. 1322 LWE is going to replace a flat roof; repair soffits and replace <br />gutters. They are not going to side the house, but replace rotting material, remove peeling <br />paint and re -paint as needed to match. Needs Lead Abatement procedures and practises <br />sent to her. 824 Forest met with Richard Guntel about the scope of work for the porch <br />deck replacement. Wants to replace original wood porch with tongue and grove pine and <br />- - - rebuild the support. We suggested weep holes for the bases of the columns. Meeting and - - on site inspection of the WPA wall for the proposed Nordiside Boulevard trail completion <br />with James Glass SHPO, Chris Jeter, Lawson Fisher et al. Gary Gilot and Rob Nelson <br />MOU forthcoming. HPC will help with WPA brochure and historic signage information. <br />Met with Steve Kollar about the Dean Building south wall. Thanked me for helping with <br />the graffiti removal from his building. Hopefully lie will get die south wall repaired. <br />27 July Sent out legal notices for the public hearing in September for Hebard <br />Haven House District and also the letters to the public Officials, County Commissioners, <br />and the owners. The South Bend Tribune notice will run on 1 August and the New <br />Carlisle News will run on 19 August.. On going discussion with Randy Ray on 803 W. <br />Washington. Contacted Marcia Qualls and Linda Riley about the missing limestone <br />capital to the pilaster. Sidney Blanchet came to the Office and requested that her home at <br />1922 Portage be landmarked. <br />28 July Continued to work on NR Hubbard Haven and began to work on Staff <br />Reports for the August meeting. Ordered 2012 Calendars. L mailed Barry Visel at AEP <br />for 1'iin Johnson who is working on the 307 LaMonte Terrace house and can not get AEP <br />to remove trees so that the restoration work can begin. Received Ismail follow up from <br />Toni Gifin with examples of interpretative signage for the WPA projects. Another <br />discussion with Randy Ray, suggested Indiana Landmarks as a possibility, Randy suggested <br />Community Foundation. 1322 LWE does not have lead exterior paint, so volunteers are <br />proceeding with removing the loose paint and repainting the body of the house. <br />29 July John Frledline came to die Office for assistance In placing 803 W. <br />Washington In a NPO hands. Stated lie was willing to put money Into the project to help <br />match and get the process moving. Turned in July fees. Worked on National Register for <br />Hubbard Haven House and Staff Reports. Contacted David Relos and updated him on <br />the Friedline visit and my discussions with Randy Ray. <br />1 August On site visits to 1233 LWE for photographs for roof COA, photographed <br />new rool' on 1615 L. Wayne (owner is now living there, house is for sale) 420 and 424 La <br />Monte for the lcncilig COAs and photographs and photograph of' 821 Forest , toured <br />through Chapin Par and Riverside Drive. On going e -mail and phone conversations with <br />John Freidline, David Relos and Randy Ray about 803 W. Washington. John Freidline <br />also stopped by the Office again. Compiled Staff Reports and organized RME for <br />Commissioners' packets. Dr. Georges Lnderle phoned about die Code Letter putting him <br />P) <br />
