5 March Prepared packets for Commissioners and mailings to applicants <br />and liaisons. <br />8 March On sight inspection with Wayne for roofing replacement that <br />would fall under routine maintenance exclusions at 834 Forest with Mike. <br />Identical roof replacement materials are proposed: charcoal Dow Corning 20 <br />year three tab asphalt shingles. Also discussed the replacement of the crown <br />moulding which we advised him that it would need to be replaced in-kind or <br />repaired; any thing else would require the Commission's approval. <br />Photographed 410-412 N. William Street after the early morning fire; <br />provided Corky Towne of Towne fire and water damage restoration with <br />owner John Freidline's contact information. <br />9 March On -sight inspection with Preservation Specialist for photos to <br />document 803 W. Washington for letter to owner concerning neglect with <br />copies to Code, Building and Community and Econ. Development. On -sight <br />visit to Riverview Cemetery Gate house to photograph structure for <br />anticipated repairs and re -use as an Office. Toured all local historic districts <br />and the Marquette School building site. Sent via Fax information on windows <br />approved by Commission to John Machowiak in Central Services for Land - <br />marked firehouse. Reconciled Location Report to Office Account. <br />10 March Office file reorganization project, complied and e-mailed notes <br />from South Bend Park's meeting with BSSB. <br />11 March Arrangements for Preservation Conference attendance after <br />Keepers Preservation Education Fund grant secured funding, followed up <br />with Frank Hurdis (we still had his old e-mail address); archived g -mail per <br />IT instructions; attended Lunch and Learn on TIF Districts. <br />15 March Morgan La Fleur (286-1685), Office Manager, from John <br />Freidline's Office (288-460 1) responded to HPC letter concerning 803 W. <br />Washington. The problem tenet will be moved out by April; police have <br />staked out house and have not been able to observe any drug activity. John <br />Freidline will be back from Mexico on March 25 and will be having work done <br />on the exterior of the house -storms, windows, etc. She said that John was <br />upset about the condition of the house and that his property manager of <br />seven years just quite without notice, so Morgan is doing double duty and not <br />familiar with all the properties. Landscaping issues will be addressed as well <br />as roof. Morgan said that 7 Roofers have declined to work on that rood as <br />either being too steep or too dangerous; but she appreciated our Contractor's <br />List and will let us know if she needs additional names. <br />
