12 April Completed review of mail and emails left during the Conference and the <br />Location Report <br />13 April Meeting at the conservatories with the Parks Department and Greg Kil to <br />finalize drawings and the upgrade plans for presentation to the Mayor and Common <br />Council for funding. Gave a supply to HPC Districts Brochures to Jack Plennert of ADG. <br />Networked with Green Drinks at the Vine and received sources for terra cotta <br />replacements( Boston Terra Cotta in Ohio and Gladdings & Mc Bean in California) from <br />Bob Humbarger. Spoke with Mike Keen about the erosion from the river affecting the <br />homes on the south of the St. Joseph River. <br />14 April On site visits to 435 Sunnyside, North Pumping Station and 1112 East <br />Wayne for COA and staff reports for May meeting. Emailed Mike Keen and Gil Cardenas <br />with contact information for the St. Joseph County Soil and Water Conservation District. <br />Worked on guest list for Southhold Awards <br />15 April Contacted Morgan La Fleur concerning the 803 W. Washington and <br />William Street properties owned by Freidline and the progress and proposed work for <br />those properties. The burned house on William Street in the Chapin Park LHD was <br />finally released by the Fire Department for clean up per Code Enforcement. Morgan <br />stated she was working with the Insurance Company and that she thought the house would <br />eventually be demolished. "The Castle" on West Washington is presently being worked <br />on. She is in contact with Action Glass to replace the damaged curved window glass and <br />other windows. She has notified all of the tenants that they must have proper curtains in <br />the windows and not blankets and sheeting. They have done interior inspections of the <br />apartments and repaired some plumbing. She said that the roof over the porch would <br />need to be replaced and that some stonework needed to be re- pointed. I referred her to <br />Russ Luchies at S1aTile for the stonework which she appreciated because she said that she <br />wasn't familiar with stonework. The problem tenant was evicted from the carriage house <br />and the brick outdoor fireplace was completely removed. The landscaping in the yard may <br />be river rocks. <br />16 April On site visits to Linden Park aka Martin Luther King Jr. Center and 902 Leland. <br />19 April Media Conference at the Conservatories with Diana Mendelsohn, Heidi <br />Gray, Gary Gilot, Mikki Dobski Shidler, Randy Przybysz, Phil St. Claire and Marta Elliot <br />of AEP for Earth Day /Arbor Day Events scheduled for this week and weekend. Discussed <br />with Phil the land - marking of the old Linden site. Phil said that all of the outdoor <br />basketball Courts located in the west/northwest side of South Bend were used by the <br />basketball greats mention in Henry Davis' request He used to play ball with these men and <br />the games would move from location to location and were mostly played at Marquette <br />School's Courts. On site visit to farm site on Area Plan Commission's Agenda #2549 -10 to <br />follow up on a citizen's request <br />
