Increased visitorship to St. Joseph Co Library (site of the event). <br />Other notes: <br />Current partners include: The National Trust for Historic Preservation, Indiana DHPA, <br />Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana, DTSB. <br />Restore Michiana — March 14, 2009 <br />4th Annual day long seminar of practical preservation solutions for owners of older homes <br />and buildings. <br />Audience: <br />Neighboring CLG staff and commissioners, owners of older homes including local landmarks in a <br />4+ county radius, anyone interested in do-it-yourself home maintenance and repair projects. <br />Benefits: <br />Strengthen the preservation ethic in South Bend/St. Joseph County, as recognized by our <br />Preserve America Community designation. <br />Empower home owners to maintain their homes according to at least HPC minimum maintenance <br />standards (in cooperation with Code Enforcement). <br />Facility rental fee benefits St. Joseph's High School (site of event). <br />Catering and other purchased services (printing, promotion, etc.) benefit local economy. <br />Local vendors and contractors are highlighted- promoting locally owned businesses employing <br />residents of South Bend and St. Joseph County. <br />Provide educational content to residents of South Bend and St. Joseph County. <br />Other notes: <br />Current partners include: Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana. <br />Hands -On Homeowner Series — Beginning April 2009 <br />Small group, intensive training on home repair challenges such as window repair, HVAC, <br />plumbing and electrical matters, taught and organized by HPC Preservation Specialist. <br />Audience: <br />Anyone interested in do-it-yourself home maintenance and repair projects. <br />Benefits: <br />Strengthen the preservation ethic in South Bend/St. Joseph County, as recognized by our <br />Preserve America Community designation. <br />Empower home owners to maintain their homes according to at least HPG minimum maintenance <br />standards (in cooperation with Code Enforcement). <br />Provide educational content to residents of South Bend and St. Joseph County. <br />Products and supplies are purchased locally, benefiting local economy. <br />Southhold Awards - Spring 2009 <br />Awards program celebrating notable achievements in preservation, restoration and rehabilitation. <br />Individuals, companies and entire college architecture classes (ND) have been recipients of <br />previous Southhold awards. <br />Audience: <br />Award nominees, anyone interested in civic or preservation activities <br />Benefits: <br />Strengthen the preservation ethic in South Bend/St. Joseph County, as recognized by our <br />Preserve America Community designation. <br />
