The shed and <br />deck will not be visible from the street since the house sits on a higher elevation than the side <br />walk and both of these items will be in the rear of the house. The standard four foot picket <br />fence along the side of the house would not be very noticeable from the street given the <br />higher elevation. <br />Catherine Hostetler read an e-mail from the homeowner in England authorizing Pat' <br />Kepschull, his mother, to represent him on this and future projects. The <br />Commissioners and Ms. Kepschull then discussed the details of the three <br />components of the COA. <br />On a motion by Lynn Patrick with a second by Linda Riley the Commission voted 7-0 <br />in favor of COA#2008-100913 as submitted. <br />LANDMARKS: The Commissioners discussed the letter written by Diane Wrobel- <br />Illes requesting that the HPC consider land -marking the home at 53081 Olive Road <br />which is next to her land -marked home. It was decided that the Commission not <br />entertain land -marking at this juncture but that it would remain open to discussion <br />with Diane Wrobel-Illes and other interested parties. Lynn Patrick volunteered to <br />contact Diane Wrobel-Illes. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS: <br />The minutes for the Septmeber15, 2008 meeting were unanimously approved on a <br />motion by Todd Zeiger with a second by David Sassano. Catherine Hostetler and <br />Larry Meteiver were requested to continue to work on reducing the time staff spent <br />on the Minutes by reducing the amount of verbatim content. <br />The Treasurer's Report aka Department Location Report was accepted. In <br />response to the Commissioners' inquiry concerning the on-going 2009 budget <br />process for the department, Catherine Hostetler distributed the October 16, 2008 <br />Memo from Mark Dobson, President of the County Commissioners. The text is <br />attached as Exhibit A. <br />President Klusczinski opined that now would be a good time to forge partnerships to <br />highlight the City and County for Heritage Tourism under the Preserve America <br />programs since the return is $19.00 for every $1.00 invested. He also wished to <br />have the tenures of retired Commissioners Choitz and Ujdak recognized. <br />The Director's Report was submitted. The text is attached as Exhibit B. In <br />response to an inquiry concerning Monroe School David Sassano, Architectural <br />Historian, reported that he had met with Ken Hebard and requested photographs of <br />the slate roof for analysis by an expert in Pennsylvania. He gave his opinion as to <br />the pros and cons of the various options for the slate roof repair and replacement. <br />3 <br />
