On <br />a motion by Mary Jane Chase with a second by Jerry Niezgodski the <br />Commissioners unanimously approved COA#2008-1106 with the contingencies <br />noted. <br />There was a request by Todd Zeiger that if it was possible to salvage parts of the <br />casement windows that he knew of people that would be interested in re -using <br />them in steel window restoration projects. <br />STAFF REPORT <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />Date: November 7, 2008 <br />Application Number: 2008-1107 <br />Property Location: 717 Lincoln Way East <br />Architectural Style/Date/Architect or Builder: American Four Square/1927/ Whitcomb <br />& Keller <br />Property Owner: Lynn Patrick <br />Landmark or District Designation: Edgewater Place L.H.D. <br />Rating: Contributing <br />DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: 717 Lincoln Way East is a two storey <br />rectangular_ brick structure set on a brick foundation. It has an enclosed porch in the front <br />with single pane windows. It has two entrances and wood double hung 1/1 windows. It <br />has a hipped roof with asphalt shingles. <br />ALTERATIONS: The front porch was enclosed. There are aluminum storm windows <br />and storm doors that have been added. In 2003 landscaping projects were approved to <br />remove invasive trees. New eaves and downspouts were installed in 2003. <br />APLICATION ITEMS: Foundation Planting; Elm planted in Tree Lawn. <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The homeowner wishes to transplant <br />some Hostas and shrubbery to the perimeter of 717 Lincoln Way East and place an Elm <br />tree in the tree lawn. See photographs attached. <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: Reading was waived by President Klusczinski. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval. <br />After a brief discussion there was a Motion by Linda Riley and a second by Todd Zeiger to <br />approve COA 2008-1107 as submitted. The motion was unanimous approved. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />President Klusczinski: There being no objection, the Chair considered that the minutes of <br />the meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission of October 20, 2008 approved as <br />presented. <br />7 <br />
