NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />a. continued.... <br />Mr. Hunt opened the Public Hearing for <br />anyone who wished to speak regarding <br />Resolution No. 1507. <br />Brian Hedman, Executive Director for the <br />Century Center Board of Managers, <br />stated that he is responsible for the <br />operation of Century Center, the College <br />Football Hall of Fame, the Morris <br />Auditorium and hopefully the Palais <br />Royale. He stated that the renovated <br />Palais Royale would enhance South <br />Bend's ability to attract corporate <br />businesses, weddings, social business, <br />holiday parties, etc. <br />He stated that in some areas the Palais <br />Royale will be in competition with <br />Century Center. Also, it was stated that <br />Century Center has a six -month <br />contracting policy that won't allow <br />booking of local social events that are <br />more than six months out. To his <br />knowledge, the Palais Royale will not be <br />under that kind of restriction. <br />The Palais Royale will be a handsome, <br />attractive facility with a traditional <br />elegance that will attract a lot of business. <br />He believes that the Palais Royale and <br />Century Center will be able to operate as <br />usual and he supports the renovations. <br />Greg Gizci, President of the Broadway <br />Theatre League, stated that his not-for- <br />profit organization brings broadway -style <br />ANN <br />H:\IiOME\CPHEPPS\WPDATA\CONMSN\060697.MIN -7- <br />
