President's Report — Tim Klusczinski <br />President Klusczinski reported on the October 8`'' Second Reading of Bill 61-07 before <br />the Common Council. President Klusczinski complimented the contributions and <br />comments made by distinguished guests: Bill Latoza, principle architect of the $2.5 <br />billion Chicago Public Schools restoration initiative, Ryan Dvorak, District 8 State <br />Representative, Ron Searcy, President AIA Indiana, and Don Sporleder, Professor <br />Emeritus of Architecture at ND, and all of the other citizens that spoke on behalf of <br />landmarking. All have our thanks for their efforts. <br />President Klusczinski also announced the Common Council tour of Marquette School <br />scheduled for 6:00pm on Tuesday October 23, 2007. It is a public meeting, so all <br />interested parties are invited to attend. The third reading of Bill 61-07 is scheduled for <br />November 12, 2007, all are also invited to attend. <br />III. OLD BUSINESS <br />VP Patrick reintroduced the topic of the Advisory Board and suggested that said body be "charged" <br />or "seated" to begin their service to the HPC. VP Patrick pointed out that after the AB candidates <br />replied to either accept or decline service, they've never been contacted again. VP Patrick suggested <br />that now would be an important time to activate the Advisory Board. Perhaps some or most of the <br />members might like to lend their support to efforts to landmark Marquette School.
