III. REGULAR BUSINESS <br />A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Moved: Riley Second: Ujdak <br />Approval of Minutes of 2/26/07 Approved Unanimously <br />B. TREASURER'S REPORT <br />Submitted as presented by Treasurer Chase. <br />C. STAFF REPORTS <br />1. Correspondence <br />Advisory Board responses have been received, and a large majority of those that have <br />responded have accepted our invitation to sit on the Board. <br />Mr. Ujdak asks for a report on the Hay Farm landmark. Director Hostetler summarized <br />recent correspondence with the homeowner and his disgruntled neighbors. Mr. Ujdak <br />reports that he spoke to Building Commissioner Don Fozo regarding Hay Farm, and Mr. <br />Fozo promised that an inspector from the Building Dept. will follow up on work done <br />without proper permits. <br />2. Director — Catherine Hostetler <br />Distributed to Commission. <br />4. Assistant Director — Amy Herdman <br />Distributed to Commission. <br />5. Legal Counsel — Shawn Peterson <br />No report. <br />C. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />1. President's Report — Tim Klusczinski <br />March 2, 2007 <br />Attended the Indiana Main Street luncheon and presentation at DTSB. Hosted by Jo Grandel <br />Program Manager (IMS) and our very own Amy Herdman, the discussion introduced the (4) key <br />points necessary to drive this successful downtown revitalization program. Specifically, these <br />are: design, organization, economic restructuring, and promotion. Local representatives from <br />DTSB, Community and Economic Development, and Memorial Hospital were among those at the <br />table. I attended on behalf of the HPC, and was joined by Lynn Patrick, Todd Zeiger, Linda <br />Riley, Catherine Hostetler and Amy. After the interested parties have an opportunity to digest the <br />information, a follow-up meeting will be scheduled to discuss ways of bringing these concepts <br />into South Bend. A general consensus at the meeting was to merge new Main Street ideas into <br />the current DTSB infrastructure. <br />March 5, 2007 <br />Toured Marquette Primary Center with Landmarks Committee <br />March 7, 2007 <br />Participated in Landmarks Committee meeting to explore Marquette Primary Center's <br />qualifications as a candidate for Local Landmark status. <br />March 8, 2007 <br />At the invitation of Carla Killilea Principle Marquette Primary Center, I joined Catherine <br />for the "Proposed Montessori Magnet School" presentation in Marquette's Auditorium, hosted by <br />Patricia O'Connor, Asst. Superintendent of Instruction SBCSC. Most of the information <br />attempted to introduce the Montessori concept to those less familiar with that educational <br />philosophy. While I found the entire notion intriguing, my attention was focused primarily on <br />
