D. STAFF REPORTS
1. C of A Approvals; Correspondence
A. Director's Report
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: Briefly went through the Director's Report with
commission members. (See cream copy of Director's Report attached to HPC meeting
binder).
B. Assistant Director's Report
JULIE SCHUTTE: Briefly went through the Assistant Director's Report with
commission members. (See orange copy of Assistant Director's Report attached to HPC
meeting binder).
2. Legal
Chuck Leone said that the legal department will be supportive of the HPC by hiring a
new attorney to fill Mr. John Livingston's place. Our next HPC meeting will be covered
by Aladean DeRose.
IV. OLD BUSINESS
1. Chapin Park Standards and Guidelines
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: I have already given Chris Manley until Christmas to get
the Chapin Park Booklets done. We also have Bev Petersen on board to help us get the
rest of the histories on those one hundred and seventy -one houses that still need to be
documented. We should have those within the next couple of months along with
everything else that we need to get this published by year's end. We also plan to have
another meeting regarding the suggested changes that were made by commission
members on this.
2. 13546 Brick Local Landmark/AEP
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: We have touched base with AEP. Sylvia, who has been
our contact person, is not due back from her holiday until later this week. I put in a
phone call to her immediate supervisor that wasn't returned. As far as we know nothing
has been done about the trees being cut down in front of that landmark. They do not want
to trim the trees; they want to completely cut them down because of the wires. These
trees are the only buffer that this landmark has from the traffic on that road. The trees
block the house; which may be something the homeowners might not mind because they
are right on the road. If they cut these trees down then they will be completely exposed
to traffic. We have not received any comments back from the homeowners yet. We have
tried calling them and we also sent them a regular postal letter as well. We still have not
received any word from the homeowners yet. We are going to try and send them a
registered letter and see if we get a response from them. AEP will not proceed with
anything on this until they receive a C of A from us.
JOHN OXIAN: We received an answer back from Abe Marcus, (Ivy Tower
Corporation), regarding the Studebaker Carpenter Building. I thought that sending him a
letter would be more official and legal than just calling him. (Copy of John's letter was
passed out to commission members). I am very satisfied with the response I received
back from him.
LYNN PATRICK: When are you planning on doing this?
JOHN OXIAN: I talked to Tim Janowiak about this and I will get a hold of Bob Yapp
to see if he wants to get together and then I will proceed from there.
LYNN PATRICK: How does that indemnity agreement operate?
