C of A Approvals; Correspondence: Leeper Park Bridge Lights;
Howard Park neighborhood.
.
KAREN HAMMOND-NASH: Staff approved a few in-kind roof replacements, and tree removals
for dead and diseased trees. Staff received a letter regarding the Leeper Park Bridge lights from
IlVDOT. Apparently, the agreement between the state and the city has not been finalized, though it
was staff s understanding that monies had been set aside for the restoration of the lights. Members
of the Howard Park neighborhood are interested in George Kessler's landscape and boulevard
plan. Gerald Kline, of West North Shore, noted to staff his concerns regarding the city yard light
program the district's need for more streetlights.
The DHPA approved HPC's bid documents for the reprinting of the historic district.-

istrict.161 brochure. HLFI and DHPA agreed to amendments to the county survey, but not complete
resurvey. The surveys will be completed in separate printing and this has caused an increase in
cost.

John Oxian noted that his name and office should be added as a signatory and that the secretary's
line would also need to be changed.

Karen noted that the memorandum had been drafted by HLFI, and that they could certainly make
those changes.

3. Legal Report
(a) Fair Labor Standards Act; new interpretative regulations

ANN CAROL-NASH: I reviewed the memorandum that Karen drafted and I agree with what was
written regarding approving compensation time for the assistant director.

MARTHA CHOITZ: I move that we accept the memorandum on fair labor standards.
FA,
hu
