South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - March 7, 1997 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a. continued.... <br />goes through a bidding proposal process <br />from individuals who are interested in <br />providing office space for federal offices. <br />She noted that the Social Security <br />Administration currently is in that process. <br />She noted that there have been several <br />individuals interested in looking at the <br />Dreisbach site and the Redevelopment <br />staff has met with these individuals and <br />asked them to submit proposals. The <br />proposals were received earlier this week. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that two proposals <br />were received, one from Mr. Clark <br />Harrison at SSP Properties and the other <br />from Mr. and Mrs. John Gould. She <br />noted that the these individuals are <br />proposing that the building be demolished <br />for the construction of a new masonry- <br />type structure for the Social Security <br />Administration building. She noted that in <br />order to submit a proposal to the General <br />Services Administration, the developers <br />must provide evidence of having site <br />control. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that this situation is <br />similar to the Bankruptcy Court decision, <br />when both Panzica and Holladay <br />Corporation were bidding on the same <br />piece of land. At that time, the <br />Commission decided that they liked the <br />concept of the Bankruptcy Court being at <br />the proposed location.
