South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - March 7, 1997
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
a. continued....
offers. The Commission accepted both
proposals subject to and contingent upon
one of the developers being the successful
recipient of the General Services
Administration's approval for that
location.
She noted that there are differences in the
proposals that were received. However,
both developers will be held to the same
requirements that the Social Security
Administration and General Services
Administration put on them; in addition to
any requirements from the Commission.
She noted that in order for Mr. Clark
Harrison or Mr. and Mrs. John Gould to
submit their proposals to the General
Services Administration they must show
evidence of site control.
The staff recommends considering both
proposals today. If the Commission is
comfortable with either or both proposals,
the staff is asking the Commission to
make a decision today to sell the land to
either of the developers for this purpose
with whatever conditions the Commission
would like to place on the sale. This
would allow the developer(s) to move
forward with their proposals to General
Services Administration.
Mrs. Kolata noted that no exact date has
been given by the General Services
Administration as to when the proposals
are due but it is our understanding that
they are due before the next Commission
H:\ HOME\ CPHIPPS \WPDATA \COMMSN\030797.MIN -5-
