Performance Grade: Minimum for performance class Indicated. <br />1.5 HISTORICAL PRESERVATION DESIGN REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Jefferson Intermediate Center is a Historical Building on the register of the Historic <br />Preservation Commission of South Bend Ex St Joseph County. The intent of the design is to <br />match the sizes, profiles, and configuration of existing windows and components (frame, <br />sash, casing, brick molding, muntins, and square inches of daylight opening) as closely as <br />possible. Setback of new Window frames from face of existing brick should be the same as <br />the setback of the existing wood windows. Daylight opening of new windows should be <br />within 2% of daylight opening of existing windows. New metal Window panning should be <br />profiled to match the profiles of existing wood Window casing and trim members. Window <br />manufacturer and installation contractor shall be experienced in window replacement on <br />buildings with historical preservation requirements. Contractor will be required to provide <br />documentation demonstrating past performance of historical preservation window <br />replacement jobs upon award of contract CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT <br />SHOP DRAWINGS OF PROPOSED WINDOW SYSTEM WITH THEIR BID- THIS IS A REQUIRED <br />PART OF THE BIDDING DOCUMENTS AND WILL BE USED TO EVALUATE QUALIFIED <br />BIDDERS. BIDS NOT ACCOMPANIED BY SHOP DRAWINGS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED <br />FOR AWARD OF CONTRACT. <br />1.6 SUBMITTALS <br />A. CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS OF PROPOSED WINDOW <br />SYSTEM WITH THEIR BID- THIS IS A REQUIRED PART OF THE BIDDING DOCUMENTS AND <br />WILL BE USED TO EVALUATE QUALIFIED BIDDERS. BIDS NOT ACCOMPANIED BY SHOP <br />DRAWINGS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR AWARD OF CONTRACT. <br />B. Product Data: Include construction details, material descriptions, fabrication methods, <br />dimensions of individual components and profiles, hardware, finishes, and operating <br />instructions for each type of wood window indicated. <br />C. Shop Drawings: Include plans, elevations, sections, details, hardware, attachments to other <br />Work, operational clearances, and the following: <br />1. Mullion details, including reinforcement and stiffeners. <br />2. Joinery details. <br />3. Expansion provisions. <br />4. Flashing and drainage details. <br />S. Weather-stripping details. <br />6. Thermal -break details. <br />7. Glazing details. <br />8. Window cleaning provisions. <br />9. For installed products indicated to comply with design loads, include structural <br />analysis data signed and sealed by the qualified professional engineer responsible for <br />their preparation and used to determine the following: <br />D. Samples for Initial Selection: For units with factory -applied color finishes. <br />E.
