KATHERINE HOSTELER: I second the motion.
JOHN OXIAN: Any discussion? Ifnot, all those in favor say aye. All those opposed say
nay. Motion carried unanimously
JOANNN SPORLEDER: May I say that when we meet, whenever we meet, at some
time I would like to have a sketch of what the landscaper is going to do for the files. So
we in fact know what was proposed. It is a little hard to sort it all out.
KAREN HAMMOND NASH: I understand that what Mr. Roberson does is get a can of
orange paint and he does his sketch on the lawn rather than on a piece of paper.
JOANN SPORLEDER: That's ok, but, it eventually needs to get transcribed to paper,
because, we are going to need to go back to the tiles and see what it was that we
approved at that time.
NANCY ICKLER: Are you talking about the moving of the hedges or the landscaping?
JOANN SPORLEDER: I think we are talking about the whole thing; because, there are a
Iot of things in here which are important like: the size and shape of the driveway, the size
and shape of the patio, the exact location of the trees and shrubs, what shrubs are being
removed and what shrubs are not being removed. It's just a little hard to follow with for
me, anyway, unless I had a plan that I could look at.
NANCY ICKLER: Well, I think that this is going to have to be something that is made
up on the spot; because, he is going to have to evaluate which of the shrubs will survive if
they are moved back and what he can obtain to fill in with and what probably would go
together.
JOANN SPORLEDER: What ever needs to be done, and is proposed to be done, I would
like to see it on paper. I would like a sketch plan that more -or -less scales what the
dimensions are for what is going to be done.
4. 304 South Tvyckenham Drive, South Bend, Indiana
KAREN HAMMOND NASH: Read the staff recommendation into the record. The
proposed new fence line, as drawn in the application, will be almost totally concealed by
the existing hedge. Staff recommends approval, contingent upon the fence being
removed if or when the hedge is ever removed or ceases to conceal the fence.
KAREN HAMMOND NASH: I move that we approve application number 2002-0514 as
recommended by staff.
JOANN SPORLEDER: I second the motion.
