Second
JOHN OXIAN: You're moving all of the hedge or just the corner area?
NANCY ICKLER: I am going to remove all of the hedge.
JOANN SPORLEDER: All of it really, I thought you weren't going to do this.
NANCY ICKLER: All of it for the reason so that it can grow a little bit fuller.
JOANN SPORLEDER: All right, so moving it is really not the right word, you're going
to take it out.
NANCY ICKLER: Well, whatever seems to be salvageable we will move back; but, if it
looks like it's not going to, then we will have to fill it in with some other things.
JOHN OXIAN: How far back are you moving it?
NANCY ICKLER: We will be moving it back five feet, probably.
JOHN OXIAN: Ok, those in favor of the motion say aye. Those opposed say nay.
Motioned carried.
JOHN OXIAN: Ok, going to number seven.
KAIZEN HAMMOND NASH: Other landscaping should be designed by a local
landscape designer. At the time that this application was submitted and the packet was
put together we did not have a drawing; because, one has not yet been done. However, I
do have a description from Mrs. Ickler indicating that this would involve removing
existing flora and planting some new, and that no significant trees and shrubbery would
be removed. Based on this the staff recommends approval.
MARTHA CHOITZ: Landscaping, Nancy, is putting in gardens for annuals.
NANCY ICKLER: I think what we are going to do is behind the new patio we're putting
some shrubbery or something like that and also he is going to put some flowering trees
back there in the woods. He's done the rest of the yard, and nothing looks outrageous.
He has been real careful to keep it natural looking and to have it compliment the style of
the house.
JOANN SPORLEDER: Somebody make a motion on number seven.
JOANN SPORLEDER: Number seven on the same application number, the local
landscape designer is going to relandscape the yard, maintaining all existing trees and
significant shrubbery. I suggest approval as recommended by staff.
11
