NANCY ICKLER: No, we are going to take out the concrete and take out the bricks and
just pour a concrete slab and then trim it with something to tie it back into the rest of the
house. What we might do is have concrete in the middle and then for the driveway; we
were thinking of using exposed adaget so it wouldn't be so much white in your face, it
would look more natural and go with the rest of the yard. Then pour this patio with
concrete in the middle and then have an outside border of 12 to 18 inches with exposed
adaget to tie in with the driveway. But, I think this is still a little bit of work in progress.
Our landscaper said he needs to lay it out. I didn't like what he did, Wayne, did you?
WAYNE DOOLITTLE: I thought he was going in the wrong direction. Generally it's
an (L) shape.
NANCY ICKLER: That doesn't make any sense what he did back there; but, he was just
trying to get an idea of the size. He suggested using a border to help kind of tie in with
the driveway.
JOANN SPROLEDER: I think I would like to recommend that we not approve this until
we get a plan that shows a little more specifically what it is were approving.
JOHN OXIAN: Table it.
NANCY ICKLER: That means we have to like not do any of it; because, they are not
going to come out twice and pour concrete.
JOHN OXIAN: No, what you should do is to remove what ever it is that you want to
have removed from there and then come back to us and tell us what you are going to do
there.
NANCY ICKLER: What I am saying is that they can't put in a driveway and come back
out again and pour the patio.
JOHN OXIAN: Oh, that's right.
JOANN SPORLEDER: The problem is nobody seems to be exactly clear about what is
going to actually be there. I think that we can't approve something that isn't more clear.
This is as unclear as it can be to me, anyway.
JOHN OXIAN: Concrete, believe it or not, ones who deliver concrete they go by the
amount of concrete you buy. It doesn't make any difference if they come out there for
five feet or twenty feet._ I knew_ by oncrete_work that I have had done, sometimes they --
can use up the whole truck and they charge you the same thing as if they came out and
did a small amount. So if they have to come out there twice, to them it doesn't make any
difference.
13
