KAREN HAMMOND-NA.SH: And the recommendation is that the windows be white <br />with the siding being an off-white, or a soft color that is not too dark or too bright_ <br />JOANN SPORT,RDF.R: I will make the motion. <br />Someone come up with a motion that says what we need to have said, Torn, I am <br />looking at you. <br />I know that he can't make a motion; but, he can at least frame up the words to it. <br />TOM BODNAR: That part of the motion which involves siding, I think the only thing <br />that you said to change is the color. So as to the staff recommendation be approved with <br />the exception of the windows shall be a soft white or a similar subdued color. <br />JOANN SPORLEDER: I will make that motion that staff recommendations as stated on <br />Item C be approved; with using a soft white for then color of the windows and a soft pastel <br />color, not pink or blue, for the rest of the house. <br />MARY JANE CHASE: I will second the motion. <br />GERALD UJDAK: Is there any further discussion? If not, all those in favor say aye. <br />All those against say nay. Motion carries unanimously. <br />JOANN SPORLEDER: I move that the chimney repair be approved as it is stated in Item <br />E, with the additional condition that the National Register and National Trust Standards <br />be used for the mortar. <br />JOHN OXIAN: I will second the motion. <br />GERALD UJDAK: Any further discussion`? Motion carries unanimously. <br />GERALD UJDAK: Item number two. 2002-0705(b); 15 12 East Wayne Street; the <br />planting of a couple maple trees. <br />KAREN HAMMOND HASH: Dr. Wheeler has called tie this afternoon. She is in <br />California at a medical conference. She had intended to leave early to get to this meeting <br />but her plane was delayed, so she called me from the airport and asked the if it was <br />necessary that she attend, and I told her no. I discussed with her the reaction of the city <br />forester to her proposal. The city forester is in agreement with the applicant that one or <br />two trees in this location of the tree lawn would be appropriate. However, the forester <br />pointed out what is also said in our Guidclinc Book for Wayne Strcct Neighborhood, that <br />most of the trees originally planted on Wayne Strut were trees that provided a higher <br />rather than a lower shade canopy. The trees originally planted tended to branch out. at a <br />higher level than the maple trees do. The forester indicated that his preference for this <br />location consistent with the guidelines in the Wayne Street Booklet would be English <br />Oak, Pin Oak, American Ash or disease resistant American Elm.
