Wayne, siding & garage. <br />CATHERINE HOSTETLER: Is the property owner present? <br />ED SMITH: I am Ed Smith, I am the property owner for 1333 E. Wayne. This is an <br />example of the 8" cedar siding I want to put on the house and new garage. Currently the <br />house has 12" cedar shakes. <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: Would you be putting the new siding all away around the <br />house, including the rear addition? <br />ED SMITH: I want to do the whole house in it. <br />RICHARD HELMUS: The whole house, including the lower brick? <br />ED SMITH: No, just over the areas that currently have siding. <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: A four -inch difference in siding width is very noticeable. <br />ED SMITH: The current cedar shake siding is 12" wide, but, only has a 10" reveal, so <br />the difference in siding widths would only be 2". <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: Does the whole 8 inches show on the cedar siding? <br />ED SMITH: Yes, it would be 10 inches wide with and 8" reveal. <br />RHONDA SAUNDERS: There are several homes of this style and age with in the <br />East Wayne Historic District that are having the same problems with the cedar shake <br />siding. <br />ED SMITH: Here is a drawing of the new garage, which would match the house. <br />RICHARD HELMUS: Have we made exceptions in the past to replace wood <br />siding with vinyl? <br />RHONDA SAUNDERS: Mr. Smith is requesting to replace the cedar siding with <br />cedar clapboard siding, not vinyl siding. <br />RICHARD MORRISON: I move that we approve application 2001-0329 as submitted <br />with the stipulation that the new cedar siding have an 8" reveal. <br />MARY JANE CHASE: I second the motion. <br />After due consideration, the following action was taken: <br />k►? <br />
