458 JOHN OXIAN: The area set aside in a portion of the new petition is the 1.87 acres
459 that is to retain landmark designation? These architectural control committees are these
460 in all the subdivisions now?
461
462 DAVID ECKRICH: Yes. We have architectural control committees in all of our
463 subdivisions. While its being developed, I am in charge of it, once it is turned over to the
464 homeowners association we elect three people to keep an eye on what is put up in the
465 neighborhood.
466
467 JOHN OXIAN: I would like the Commission to have the standards and make-up of
468 this committee for this area, once it is developed.
469
470 RICHARD MORRISON: Has the legal description of the property been reviewed by
471 attorneys?
472
473 DEREK SPIER: It was prepared by a registered surveyor.
474
475 RICHARD MORRISON: I move to approve the modification to landmark 14297 SR
476 23 as presented with the alterations to the covenants.
477
478 JOANN SPORLEDER: I second the motion.
479
480 After due consideration, the following action was taken:
481
482 Upon a motion by Richard Morrison, being seconded by Joann Sporleder and
483 carried unanimously the petition to modify local landmark 14927 SR 23 was approved as
484 presented with the alterations to the covenants.
485
486
487 B. Local Landmarks 2"d Reading
488 1. 3302 W. Western — Harrison School.
489
490 JOHN OXIAN: I would like to withdraw Harrison School unless there are any
491 objections.
492
493 JOANN SPORLEDER: Is there a reason for such an action?
494
495 JOHN OXIAN: We had a meeting with Dr. Raymond at which she presented their
496 reasons for demolishing Harrison along with the fact that bond issues have gone a little
497 too far in regards to this property. I think if we take any further action on this, we will be
498 creating very large problems.
499
500 GERALD UJDAK: I was present at the meeting John Oxian referred to and came away
501 with the same understanding. I support John Oxian in this request. If we continue, we
502 would create serious problems, even though Dr. Raymond assured us that if we decided
503 to continue she would immediately stop all construction of the new school.
11
