The second well, located in the main body of the park is much more
visible then the island wells and required a thorough investigation. The end result is that
the existing well is contaminated and must be replaced. The area previously approved for
a test well is the most suitable spot for a permanent well, nowhere else in the park is there
such easy access to piping and electricity. To place the well elsewhere in the park would
be as visible or more visible and would require the need to run additional piping and
electricity, causing more disturbance to the park. The proposed well would not effect any
trees and an original wrought iron fence would surround it. The staff recommends
approval of this request with the stipulation that trees and appropriate flora be planted
around the well to buffer the visual impact and any noise the well may emit.
2
