1. Wood replacement windows, painted interior and exterior wood sash. <br />Each replacement unit is to be sized to fit the existing masonry opening <br />(for new window unit locations, refer to the proposed plans and <br />elevations). <br />Secondary Elevations: West and South Side - <br />The south side windows front the south property line and a variance has been sent <br />downstate (Department of Fire and Building Services) for use of the existing fire <br />rated windows and openings to serve as exit windows in the proposed new <br />bedrooms (see proposed plans / elevations). These units will not change size or <br />type, but will be re -used or new fire -rated units, as required by the code. <br />Exterior Doors: <br />Main Doors, Primary East Elevation: <br />The original exterior doors do not exist. The original transom is proposed to remain <br />in place and the wood sash will be repainted. Proposed for the East entry is a pair of <br />new single full light aluminum doors, medium style (medium bronze anodized color). <br />Existing wood interior vestibule doors are proposed to be re -used and the original <br />vestibule maintained, with ceramic mosaic floor, wood trim and painted walls (north <br />and east sides). <br />New Doors, Secondary West Elevation: <br />The original openings at the West fagade were overhead service doors to the <br />building from the parking lot. Proposed at the new west apartment entry is a pair of <br />painted insulated steel or fiberglass flush panel doors, with peephole. The original <br />first floor basement man -door is proposed to be abandoned and infilled with <br />salvaged common brick. (see "Brick Masonry" below). <br />Masonry <br />In general the brick, mortar and terra cotta is in very good condition. <br />Brick Masonry: <br />Some infill brick is proposed on the west facade in the wall areas surrounding the <br />new west entry and new window opening above the new door. Also, the original first <br />floor basement man -door is proposed to be abandoned and infilled with salvaged <br />common brick from the interior of the building.
