EDWARD TALLEY: The Executive Committee met last Thursday afternoon to 409 review and select a contractor to handle the layout and design of the 1999 County Re- 410 Survey. In your packet you will find a sub - grantee progress report. This a normal report 411 due quarterly throughout the year when doing a grant. This project should have been 412 done June of 2000, we are just now getting started because the survey portion of the 413 project was supposed to be completely in June of 1999 and has just recently been 414 submitted to the Commission. Because of this fact the office has had to eat some of the 415 cost. The Committee selected the cheaper of the three bids that were received and have 416 requested that they add more then the standard three photos per section. 417 418 This Commission is the first of its kind in Indiana to request the survey to be on disk. 419 The survey disks will be lent to the County to have it placed on the County database. 420 421 When the graphic designer has completed the layout and made it camera ready we will 422 send out the request for proposal for the printing of the books. 423 424 You will notice a letter from the Board of County Commissioners dated July 13, 2000 425 regarding budgets for 2000. Department 37 never received this notice regarding a 426 meeting about budgets for 2000. At this meeting departments were notified that because 427 of the cost incurred for the construction of the new jail all department budgets will be 428 frozen for the next three to five years. The County Commissioners don't care how the 429 money is moved around they simply want all departments to give the same bottom line as 430 is currently in their budget. So for our department budget for 2001 we are going to ask 431 for $112,120.00. 432 433 It is also time for the office to apply for the CDBG funds from the city and turn it in by 434 August 7, 2000. 435 436 The office has received a copy of a letter from Gary Gilot, Board of Director of Public 437 Works, to Julia DesLauriers, outlining a project which was drawn up to remedy the 438 parking and noise problems along Riverside Drive. 439 440 10
