93 JOHN OXIAN: I think it would be better if you install 4x4's on the corners of the
94 porch to give more of an original appearance. You could also install a post on either side
95 of the new screen door.
96
97 RON GAMBLE: The letter I received stated that the Commission would want to
98 know the style of screen door. I have a picture of the type of vinyl door that looks similar
99 to older wood screen doors that I am going to use. I will also have Mylar inserts for the
100 screen door.
101
102 JOHN OXIAN: It is always very helpful when a homeowner attends the meetings
103 to answer the Commission's questions. This often keeps the Commission from having to
104 place the application into committee.
105
106 RON GAMBLE: No one told me when I purchased the house that it was in an
107 historic district.
108
109 MARTHA CHOITZ: Are the dimensions of the siding the same as that of the
110 houses clapboard?
111
112 RON GAMBLE: The siding will probably be off just slightly.
113
114 MARY JANE CHASE: If the house is wood why do you want to use a man -made
115 siding for the porch?
116
117 RON GAMBLE: Vinyl siding is easier and cheaper since I am on a budget. I also
118 held up a longer piece of the siding against the house and there isn't much of a difference.
119
120 MARY JANE CHASE: Yes, but, if each panel is off an eighth of an inch the gap is
121 going to increase with every panel.
122
123 RON GAMBLE: I don't believe that the gap will be very noticeable, however, if the
124 Commission decides that the siding needs to be wood then I guess I will have to spend
125 the extra money for wood siding.
126
127 JOANN SPORLEDER: Usually there is a type of joint between the house and
128 enclosed porches to buffer the connection between the porch siding and house.
129
130 CHERYL GREENE: The owner has exceeded the 15 minutes allowed for
131 presentation.
132
133 JOHN OXIAN: The 15- minute time limit for presentations has elapsed.
134
135 MARY JANE CHASE: I would like to know the cost difference between using
136 vinyl and wood clapboard.
137
3
