Bartlett, porch.
J. EDWARD TALLEY: The owner, Mr. Gamble is present.
Mr. Talley went on to read the staff report into the minutes.
RON GAMBLE: I am not using plexi glass, I will be using Mylar, which is stronger,
and clearer then plexi glass. These inserts will only be used in the wintertime.
Mr. Gamble passed around an example of the Mylar as well as the siding and the
proposed screen door.
JOHN OXIAN: Why do you want to close in the porch?
RON GAMBLE: To allow my family to enjoy the porch, away from bugs. I am also
enclosing it to protect my one -year grandchild who resides with me.
I took down the iron supports because they were extremely rusted and a hazard. I
decided to close in the porch rather then simply install new supports.
The fancy portions of the house is all in the second story and will not be covered by the
porch.
JOHN OXIAN: What did you do with the iron supports?
RON GAMBLE: I threw them out because they were almost completely rusted out.
JOHN OXIAN: So, you are going to side the bottom of the porch?
RON GAMBLE: Here is an example of the wood grain siding that will be used on
the porch. It will be painted to match the wood siding currently on the house.
JOHN OXIAN: What type of supports did the porch have when you purchased the
property?
RON GAMBLE: The porch had the wrought iron supports.
JOHN OXIAN: The windows will fit solidly into the openings and be taken out in
the summer?
RON GAMBLE: The Mylar will be fitted into a wood frame and will slide into the
porch openings during the winter and removed during the summer.
RICHARD HELMUS: The most of the houses along Bartlett mostly have enclosed
porches.
N
