4. Standards & Maintenance <br />Mr. Fine noted that there will be a meeting on February 24th at 3:30pm to meet with an <br />architect who is representing two home owners, in the East Wayne District who want to <br />construct additions. <br />E. Staff Reports <br />1. CofA Staff Approvals - none <br />2. Miscellaneous Activities <br />Mr. Talley noted that he and Mr. Fine would be meeting with the owner of 911 Golden Avenue <br />to discuss possible interior rehabilitation. Mr. Talley also noted that he has accessed Chicago's <br />Historic Landmarks web page and plans to use their lay out in the creating of the Commissions <br />web page. <br />VI. Old Business <br />A. Nomination of Officers <br />Mr. Weiner reported that the nominating committee has selected the following office holders <br />for 1999, John Oxian as President, Catherine Hostetler as Vice President, Adrian Fine as <br />Secretary and Ron Zmyslo as Treasurer. Mrs. Sporleder seconded the motion. The motion <br />passed unanimously. Mr. Oxian stated that he will have a list of Committee members for the <br />March meeting. <br />V. New Business <br />1. First Reading of Proposed Local Landmarks <br />There was some discussion over the Hope Rescue Mission possibly buying the Reis Furniture <br />Building and the effects it would have on the Studebaker Museums desire to buy the building. <br />Mr. Oxian noted that there is a meeting scheduled for 9:OOam concerning the Jefferson Street <br />Bridge and that the director of Monroe School has been notified of its nomination. <br />2. First Reading Cushing Street Proposed Local Historic District <br />Mr. Oxian stated that he has been in contact with councilmen and the Near Northwest <br />Association regarding the nomination of Cushing Street as a proposed local historic district. <br />3. New Committees. <br />a. Facade Easement Committee <br />Mr. Oxian noted that he would like to establish a facade easement committee to over see the <br />easements that were donated to the Commission by Southhold. He also noted that he wants to <br />nominate Mr. Weiner to chair the committee. Mrs. Hostetler moved to establish a facade <br />easement committee with Mr. Weiner as the chair. Mr. Fine seconded the motion. The motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />5 <br />
