Mr. Duvall stated that he had leave from Mr.-Lattrell..to publish this <br />project in the Spring' News Letter. <br />Mr. Talley noted that the Commission has taken large steps in the direction of <br />progress with addition -.of more -.modern computers and the issuance of a <br />newsletter. Mr: Duvall noted that the Commission does. have a request in for <br />next year to get networked - with the Assessors office. -There- was ..some. <br />-discussion-over the staffs'faulty -answering- machine. - `Mr.: Duvall- also -noted --;- <br />that he.has received the'Portage Manor National Register.Nomination from Glory., <br />June Greiff. <br />B.- 1998-99 <br />Mr. Duvall reported that the - agreement papers have been received and signed <br />and have been sent on to John -Lenz to -let him know.the Commission is ready for' <br />their appropriation money. <br />4. Proposed Local Historic Districts <br />Mr. Oxian reported,that the Taylor.'s Field.( South St. Joseph Street) proposed. <br />local historic district,will - have its public hearing -in June and the -Cushing <br />Street proposed district. will be.1n the near, future.- Mr. Talley asked where <br />Leeper Park was in regards to the State.National Register. Mr. -Duvall -stated, <br />that it was -not �heard .at the Aastt-review board meeting and that the next <br />meeting will be 'on the. third Wednesday in July. He also .noted .than -he has <br />received a packet from Malcom Cairns containing the latest.information-which <br />- <br />he has sent to the State Office. _ <br />5. Liaison Committee Elections <br />Mr.' Duvall reported that the :staff was collecting the ballotsand that a <br />meeting needs to•be set upto open the ballots for Riverside Drive with its <br />only Liaison member, Ann Bockenkamp. He noted that the other districts can'be' <br />opened at'the same time because they have -to standing_ Liaison members- <br />V. Old Business <br />No old business was considered. . <br />VI..New Business <br />A.,,First Reading of Local Landmark Designation for 127,.129 Franklin.,and 407 <br />West -Jefferson. <br />Mr. Oxian stated that these three houses are owned by the'same person and that <br />there.is owner consent for to the designation. <br />VII Hearing.of Visitors <br />Ms.. DesLauriers asked if: anything has happened concerning -the wall -in Leeper <br />Park. Mr. Oxian stated that nothing new has been done,regarding-the wall.and <br />that now, -would be a good time to talk to the new director of Public Works. <br />Ms. DesLauriers asked if Water Works was done with their part of the project. <br />Mr.. Oxian stated than they are done. Ms.. DesLauriers ,stated that all <br />interested parties need to. work together, to solve this problem or the wall <br />will crumble. Mr. Duvall stated that when -,he circulated information regarding <br />the Home Town Indiana Funding devise Phil St. Clair mentioned -that the island <br />wall might be a good use for this .funding, however;, Mr. St. Clair did not <br />5 <br />
