&Vt5e �6 <br />follow up on this idea. Ms. DesLauriers asked if the Commission_ would keep <br />her and Mrs. Fritschner up' to-date on this issue. There was some,discussion <br />over who'should.keep them up to-date and who they should call with questions.' <br />Ms. DesLauriers stated that another-one of their concerns is the East Race <br />Walkway lighting which • Mr."Littrell'had more or less promised would be located-' <br />on the -west side of the street and' would have ,back shields -to keep the glare ` <br />from.the houses.,' However,.the last plans still showed the lights on.the,east <br />side and no deflectors. Ms. DesLauriers further 'stated`.that they,felt that <br />they have not been-heard.by,the local government and that there is a lack of . <br />concern and respect for inner-city residents." She noted that -the liaison' <br />committee was going. to, meet with Greg Gallagher "tomorrow. night and that they <br />have also voiced their.displeasure,to the Mayor. <br />Mr. Talley asked Ms.'DesLauriers where things stand.in regards,to the Madison <br />Center noise problem. Ms.,DesLauriers noted that the Madison Center has not <br />.done anything further concerning the mechanical noises.and they.have,not-even <br />addressed the complaints concerning the vulgar language. She reported that'. <br />.she.has called and complained to`the Madison Center about the language and <br />when,they did nothing to stop it she called the City Attorney who said nothing <br />could be done until police reports were-filed. Ms. DesLauriers stated that <br />she '.is now calling the "police and 'complaining. Mr. Talley asked :if Ms. <br />DesLauriers has spoken to their Councilman. She stated that, they •'have,.not <br />approached him because he was so new. Mr. Talley ,stated that he was not' new <br />now and .that, they should contact him .and voice these concerns. He then went <br />ori to congratulate Ms. DesLauriers and Mrs. Fritschner' for their <br />accomplishment in getting pylons placed along Riverside. Drive'in` Lee'pe r Park. <br />There was some discussion,.over the noise coming from -the Madison Center. Ms. <br />DesLauriers stated that she `felt .this issue was dead .and that they could-do <br />-,nothing further 'about it, however, at the Mayor's Night Out when she voiced <br />her displeasure with the situation a reporter, shoWLd.interest in writing an <br />article about.the situation and-�hey are_meeting-with him•on"Saturday the 23rd <br />of May. <br />VIII.
