Standards and Maintenance -1610 E...Wayne Street Mrs. Hostetler stated that the Standards and Maintenance Coimnittee'had.met and discussed the architectural -changes to the house, with the owner, --Mrs. McGrew, and her. builder. -During I this meeting the Committee approved the proposed-. addition .to- the house. Mrs..' Hostetler also noted that the proposed rear addition would mirror.- the' 'design of the front of the- house. She further stated .that the Committee approved the new rear screen porch and the Pella replacement windows, however., Mr. Duvall is placing Mrs. McGrew. in contact with*the company that did the windows for the East Race to see if their stock . windows have become more --reasonably priced. Mrs. McGrew expressed a desire to beater replicate the existing steel casement windows during the Committee meeting. Mr. Duvall stated that he has made contact with a sales representative. from that company to discuss Mrs. McGrew's house and the possibility of other houses in East Wayne Street District that,might also be interested in using their product: '-:Mr. Talley stated that a mailer of -some sort should be 'sent out to all owners of homes in East Wayne, Street Historic District that have steel casement windows informing 'them of this .'company and- - -their prices as a window replacement alternative.- Mrs. 'Hostetler stated that the owners in East Wayne Street Historic -District should get together and approach this company to replace all of the windows at once;. which -would help` drive the cost of the windows down and the company would be able to use the 'project in their advertising: Mr. Oxian staied.that once the -costs were known then a notice should be.sentlout to all owners with houses with steel casement- .windows in East Wayne to set-up a meeting with a -representative of the company to discuss the advantages- and disadvantages of their product. - Mrs. Choitz noted that there are also houses in the West. Natatorium.- Mr: Oxian stated that if no .new developments occur, concerning ------ the -'-Natatorium then he wants to send its landmark nomination, the Common Council.for,their approval. There was some discussion over who is interested in.and/or involved with the Natatorium.
