MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING. <br />of the <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION'COMMISSION <br />Regular Monthly Meeting County Commi'ssioner's <br />7:30 p.m.. Conference Room <br />Monday May 18, 1998 7th Floor County -City Building <br />.I. Call _to Order <br />John Oxian, President of•the'commission,.brought the meeting to order at 7:30 <br />p.m. ' <br />II. Roll Call <br />Commission members present were: Martha -Choitz, Catherine Hostetler, John <br />Oxian, Edward 'Talley, Jerry Wiener' & Joann Sporleder, who left after -the <br />completion of the7Public Hearing section of the agenda. <br />Commission staff present was: David Duvall, Director, Rhonda `.Saunders, <br />Administrative Assistant and Aladean DeRose, Counsel, who arrived -at 7:45. <br />-Also attending the meeting were: Tom Selsor; Rita Kopczynski, Julia <br />DesLauriers and Linda'Fritschner. <br />III. Public Nearing <br />A. Certificates of Appropriateness <br />-1)' 1998-0413, 12670 State Road 23 - Addition to.existing structure.. <br />-Mr. Duvall presented the Staff Report and distributed photographs. The owner, <br />Mr. Selsor, was present. Mr. Oxian asked if Mr. Selsor would like.to answer <br />Mr. Duvall's question regarding how the fence line would be affected by -the. <br />addition. Mr. Selsor stated that the fence line will continue to run.parallel <br />to, the road and connect- with the fence in front of. Yesterday's restaurant. <br />Mr. Selsor further noted- that 'he, 'was planning, on submitting another <br />application containing more detailed drawings and descriptions of -the changes <br />to.the fence and any proposed signs, however, he did not want to get into that <br />until he knew 'if this application _would pass. Mr.. Oxian stated- that Mr. <br />.Selsor could work with Mr. Duvall, to iron out the details of the.fence. Mr. <br />Oxian asked Mr. Selsor 'if the proposed parking lot would be:larger then the - <br />amount of .parking that is currently available. Mr: Selsor stated that there <br />is currently no parking for this property, previously customers -parked, in the <br />lot next door. <br />Mr.'Oxian asked what the'.front portion of the lot had been used for': Mr. <br />Selsor, stated that the previous business had used -the area to display and sell <br />landscaping material, he.also noted that;the tenant has moved out allowing for ' <br />this space to be converted into a parking lot for the next tenant. Mr. Weiner <br />moved to approve the applications first choice of a one story addition-. Mr. <br />Talley seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />2) 1998-0501, 1336 E. Wayne - Enclosed screen porch - <br />Mr. Duvall: presented the Staff - Report and distributed photographs. He noted <br />that the owner 'was not' -present. Mr. Oxian called for any questions. There <br />were none. Mr. Talley moved to approve the application as submitted: .Mrs. <br />Sporleder seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />3)-- 1998-0508', 1610 East Wayne --Roof alteration to garage shed. <br />Mr. Duvall presented the. Staff Report and distributed photographs. He.noted <br />that ;the owner was not present.. Mrs. Hostetler moved to approve, the <br />application as submitted. Mr. Talley seconded the motion. The motion -passed <br />unanimously. <br />
