•
0
Hardy Manuel Log House. The Notre Dame Field School investigations received
excellent press coverage but have concluded that this location was not used as
a residential habitation during the Nineteenth Century and that the building
must have been moved to the present location. This calls into question where
the Manuel hoUQhown on the 1875 Atlas map was exactly located and whether
this log house is in—fact that building.
5. Mr. Duvall reported .that there was once again an issue regarding the
.residential subdivision of agricultural land which included an old family
cemetery, in this case, the Price Family located near the corner of Peach and
Crumstown Highway. The burial plot which contains' no visible headstones is
proposed as an outlot, but the identified location may not be sufficiently
precise and there is concern for the long—term maintenance of the outlot as
the subdivision documents do not establish a homeowners association nor any
commonly held features. The inference would be that the outlot would
eventually revert to the county. Mr. Oxian indicated that the property might
be vested to the Township Trustee and a marker placed by the Developer.
6. Mr. Duvall reported that the "Wenger Farmhouse", a Local Landmark located
at 701 Pennsylvania had been raided by the police recently and 'subsequently
vacated and sealed by Code Enforcement. At the Code Hearing, Ann Kolata of
red vedopment had indicated the intention of the city to acquire the property
a p[arg of the Southeast redevelopment program sometime early in 1997.
V. Old Business
There was no further old business considered.
VI. New.Busine'ss
Fr. Bullene inquired about the proposed redevelopment. of the Robertson's
Building and whether there were preservation concerns. Mr. Duvall noted that
to his understanding, the historical facades had .been destroyed when the
metal clad facade was installed but that the developer intended to fairly
traditional treatment to the new facade developments.
Mr. Duvall *will pursue the development of the district mailing lists and
printing -of Guidelines books utilizing that DHPA funding.
VII. Hearing of Visitors
Mr.. Borkowski introduced his son, Richard who was observing the meeting for
his Boy Scout activities.
VIII.
