South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - September 20, 1996
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
E continued....
packet which contained a plot land use
that shows that there is also a private
drive going from the northwest corner
going into the alley way.
Mrs. Kolata stated that she was surprised
at that too. It doesn't seem to be wide
enough for a vehicle. This is one of the
strangest shaped lots, it's basically a
rectangle with a 6' by 98' strip on it. That
isn't wide enough for a vehicle. That's a
pedestrian type of access.
Mrs. Auburn stated it is always difficult
when there is more than one bid for one
piece of property and there isn't enough
property to go around to make everyone
happy. But the Commission does need to
take a motion and move forward on
disposition of this particular piece of
property since both of the uses are
essentially identical.
Mr. Donoho stated that he'd like to move
that the Commission award to Lex
Investment, his primary mover on that is
that the bid guidelines were met, the price
was higher and the price was higher at bid
time —not post -bid.
Upon a motion by Mr. Donoho, seconded
by Mr. Hojnacki and unanimously carried,
the Commission accepted the proposal
from Lex Investment, Inc. for purchase of
the property at 505 W. Washington in the
Washington- Chapin Development Area.
(Lot at 505 W. Washington)
-24-
COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM
LEX INVESTMENT, INC. FOR PURCHASE OF THE
PROPERTY AT 505 W. WASHINGTON IN THE
WEST WASHINGTON- CHAPIN DEVELOPMENT
AREA (LOT AT 505 W. WASHINGTON- CHAPIIN)
