criteria, including the May 1st conference <br />were discussed. <br />Mrs. Sporleder suggested that Mrs. Dixon <br />consider someone from the Agricultural <br />Stabilization and Conservation Committee <br />as a possible speaker for the May 1st <br />conference. <br />V. Old Business <br />A. City Survey <br />Mrs. Sporleder said she would like to <br />sometime in the future have time allotted solely to <br />a comprehensive discussion of the City Survey. <br />A discussion on the past and present surveys <br />followed. <br />B. Wooded Area Survey <br />Mrs. Dixon reported that she had applied for a <br />grant to develop standards for determining what <br />constitutes a historic landscape feature or <br />historic scenic feature. However, she felt that <br />HPC would be turned down for that particular grant. <br />Mrs. Sporleder suggested that HPC apply for a grant <br />from the Urban Forestry Foundation. <br />Mrs. Dixon said if either of the grants were <br />received an expert in the area of landscape <br />features needed to be found. <br />C. Research Guidelines <br />Mr. Holycross was commended for,the outstanding job <br />he did in establishing the research guidelines. <br />It was agreed by the commission that the guidelines <br />be reformatted and include a table of contents. <br />Mrs. Dennen moved that the research Guidelines be <br />adopted: Mr. Newburn seconded. Motion approved. <br />D. Plaques <br />Plaques for Historical Landmarks were available <br />through the following companies: <br />1. La Haye/$110.00 per plaque. <br />2. Norman Perry/$60.00 per plaque. <br />3. Lakeshore Industries/$45 per plaque. <br />4 <br />
