Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:37 p.m. <br />II. Roll Call <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: -Mrs. Lori Dixon, Mr. John Oxian, Mr. Herb Herendeen, Mrs. <br />Janeanne Petrass, Mrs. Joann Sporleder, Mr. Jed Eide, Mr. <br />David Chapleau, nad Mrs. Jean Dennen. <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr..Nimtz, Mr. Newburn. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Kevin Boughal, SBT; John Fisher, Lawson -Fisher Associates; <br />Barbara Steele. <br />III. Public Hearing <br />A. Certificates of Appropriateness <br />1) Monroe/Edgewater--Bronson/Edgewater--ED <br />Mrs. Dixon reported that Lawson -Fisher Associates have been working <br />with the city on two lift stations, one on the corner of Monroe/Edge- <br />water, the other on the corner of Bronson/Edgewater. Mr. Fisher was <br />present to explain the project in detail. <br />Mr. Fisher first pointed out that there were actually three lift <br />stations included in the project --the third being to the west of <br />the river, on Colfax. One of the goals of the project is to eliminate <br />the station on Bronson, for the following reasons; 1) to eliminate <br />the problem of combined sewage overflow (ie sewage spilling into <br />the river during rainstorms, snowmelt etc.) 2) to rid the city of <br />the expense of operating this station and 3) because this station is <br />the smallest of the three. <br />Mr. Fisher then outlined a two-step plan for ;upgrading! fihe newer-.:=_ <br />'system:- First, the Monroe/Edgewater station will be rehabilitated. <br />Though this rehabilitation will involve extensive contruction, most of <br />the changes will occur deep underground and will therefore not be <br />visible. The only visible alteration_ will be the presence of two <br />
