Personnel <br />a) Director's position <br />Mr. Oxian reported on the recommendation of the personnel <br />committee to promote Mrs. Dixon to the position of <br />Director of the Historic Preservation Commission, as <br />approved by the County Commissioners. Mrs. Petrass moved <br />to approve the promotion; Mr. Eide seconded; motion <br />approved. <br />b) New Personnel <br />Mr. Oxian reported that the staff had hired a new <br />research assistant, Mary Wikman, and a new surveyor, <br />Leigh Booker, as interviewed by Mrs. Dixon and himself. <br />7. Staff Report <br />a) Studebaker Corridor <br />Mr. Oxian reported that he had spoken with Jon Hunt of <br />Economic Development regarding the corridor. Mr. Oxian <br />then suggested that the Commission hold a public meeting <br />prior to the completion of the petition drive this spring <br />before the Commission makes a public statement on its <br />position regarding the Corridor Revitalization project. <br />Mrs. Sporleder and Mr. Oxian both suggested, with the <br />agreement of those present, that the regular March <br />meeting of the Commission would be an appropriate time tc <br />hold such a hearing. The meeting will be tentatively <br />scheduled for Monday, March 19, in the Council Chambers. <br />b) Report on Grant Proposals <br />Mrs. Dixon reported that grant proposals were presented <br />to the State Review Board on December 13 in Indianapolis. <br />The grants were approved for funding at the levels <br />requested, with the proposed $19,367.00 rounded to <br />$19,400.00. <br />c) Bi -Monthly Report <br />Mrs. Dixon reported that the staff had attended two <br />conferences and the State Review Board meeting; had <br />provided citizens with information and technical <br />assistance; had performed section'106 reviews; had <br />interviewed.applicants for four positions and hired <br />persons for two; and had continued work on both the <br />Survey Grant and the RP3 Grant. <br />December 18, 1989 PAGE 3 <br />
