Personnel a) Director's position Mr. Oxian reported on the recommendation of the personnel committee to promote Mrs. Dixon to the position of Director of the Historic Preservation Commission, as approved by the County Commissioners. Mrs. Petrass moved to approve the promotion; Mr. Eide seconded; motion approved. b) New Personnel Mr. Oxian reported that the staff had hired a new research assistant, Mary Wikman, and a new surveyor, Leigh Booker, as interviewed by Mrs. Dixon and himself. 7. Staff Report a) Studebaker Corridor Mr. Oxian reported that he had spoken with Jon Hunt of Economic Development regarding the corridor. Mr. Oxian then suggested that the Commission hold a public meeting prior to the completion of the petition drive this spring before the Commission makes a public statement on its position regarding the Corridor Revitalization project. Mrs. Sporleder and Mr. Oxian both suggested, with the agreement of those present, that the regular March meeting of the Commission would be an appropriate time tc hold such a hearing. The meeting will be tentatively scheduled for Monday, March 19, in the Council Chambers. b) Report on Grant Proposals Mrs. Dixon reported that grant proposals were presented to the State Review Board on December 13 in Indianapolis. The grants were approved for funding at the levels requested, with the proposed $19,367.00 rounded to $19,400.00. c) Bi -Monthly Report Mrs. Dixon reported that the staff had attended two conferences and the State Review Board meeting; had provided citizens with information and technical assistance; had performed section'106 reviews; had interviewed.applicants for four positions and hired persons for two; and had continued work on both the Survey Grant and the RP3 Grant.
