NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a. continued.... <br />Amending the Development Plan for the <br />West Washington- Chapin Development <br />Area. <br />Mrs. Kolata asked that the following <br />documents be entered into the record: <br />(1) An original of the Notice of Public <br />Hearing for the West Washington - Chapin <br />Development Area; (2) An affidavit of <br />Carol Smith, Advertising Director of the <br />South Bend Tribune, that notice of Public <br />Hearing was published in that daily <br />newspaper on June 21, 1996; (3) An <br />Affidavit of Lisa J. Andrysiak, Office <br />Manager of the Tri- County News, that the <br />Notice of Public Hearing was published in <br />that weekly newspaper on June 21, 1996; <br />(4) Copies of letters sent to affected <br />property owners; (5) Copies of letters sent <br />to affected neighborhood organizations; <br />(6) A copy of Resolution No. 1436 of the <br />Redevelopment Commission; (7) As of <br />10:00 a.m. on July 3, 1996 1 written <br />remonstrance was received. <br />There was no objection and the items were <br />entered into the record. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that the resolution being <br />considered amends the Development Plan <br />by adding one property to the Acquisition <br />List. The property is at 309 -313 S. Scott <br />St. in the West Washington - Chapin <br />Development Area. The purpose for <br />acquiring the property is to make the land <br />available for redevelopment purposes. The <br />Redevelopment staff has been working <br />-4- <br />
