c. Historic Landmarks <br />1) Darden Bridge <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that Mr. Lichtenstein from the <br />Engineering firm of A.G. Lichtenstein & Associates, Inc. was <br />in South Bend on Friday, August 23, 1985 to look at the Darden <br />Bridge. He met with County Commissioner Larrison and <br />Councilman Loeffler and did a preliminary inspection of the <br />bridge. A proposal to do a thorough engineering study of the <br />bridge for a cost of $6,600 has been sent to the County <br />Commissioners. <br />2) 742 Sancome - Second Reading <br />Second reading was held for landmark status for the house at <br />742 Sancome. Mrs. DeLaruelle made a motion that the <br />Commission recommend 742 Sancome to the Common Council for <br />landmark status; Mrs. Choitz seconded; motion passed. <br />3) 504-508 E. LaSalle - First Reading <br />40 First Reading was held for landmark status for 504-508 East <br />LaSalle. The staff presented a report on 502 East LaSalle <br />(see Appendix D) recommending retaining the C/10 rating. The <br />Commissioners asked the staff to inquire whether the owner <br />would agree to including 502 in the landmark designation. <br />d. Legal <br />No Report <br />e. Public Relations & Community Education <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that the Historic Districts Brochure will go <br />to the printer this week. <br />f. Environmental Impact Statement <br />1) 812 Golden <br />Mr. Clem Fisher, owner of 812 Golden, changed two windows on <br />the south corner of the house without a building permit or a <br />certificate of appropriateness. Mr. Oxian made a motion to <br />approve the windows as they are and to send a letter to the <br />contractor informing him that the area is a historic district; <br />Mr. Nimtz seconded; motion passed. <br />3 <br />
