Mr. Oxian made a motion that the Commission recommend 716 W. <br />Colfax to the Common Council for landmark status; Mr. Newburn <br />seconded; motion passed. <br />2) Second Reading for Landmark Designation for 920 W. Washington <br />Mr. Oxian made a motion that the Commission recommend 920 W. <br />Washington to the Common Council for landmark status; Mr. <br />Newburn seconded; motion passed. <br />3) Second Reading for Landmark Designation for 1938 E. Ewing <br />Mr. Oxian made a motion that the Commission recommend 1938 E. <br />Ewing to the Common Council for landmark status; Mrs. <br />DeLaruelle seconded; motion passed. <br />4) Review of Landmark Standards <br />Mr. Oxian made a motion to accept the Landmark Standards with <br />the changes as indicated (see Appendix C); Mrs. Choltz <br />seconded; motion passed. <br />5) Fredrickson House <br />• Ms. Kiemnec read the reply to our request to the Building <br />Commissioner regarding the Fredrickson House (see Appendix D). <br />Mr. Oxian suggested that she follow up on the matter. <br />• <br />d. Legal <br />No report. <br />e. Public Relations & Community Education <br />1) Committee Meeting Report <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that the Committee met and discussed <br />signs for historic districts and brochures with maps of <br />historic districts. She indicated that the Commission might <br />seek a grant for the project from the Tourism Information & <br />Promotion Fund of the Indiana Department of Commerce. She <br />explained that as a government agency the Commission could not <br />apply but could do so through a non-profit such as Southhold <br />Restorations or the Northern Indiana Historical Society. Mr. <br />Nimtz made a motion that Ms. Klemnec pursue the grant for the <br />brochures and signs from the Indiana Department of Commerce; <br />Mr. Newburn seconded; motion passed. <br />4 <br />
