• <br />g. Staff Report <br />1) Preservation Plan <br />Ms. Straw distributed the bound copies of the Preservation <br />Plan. She indicated that one page was missing which she will <br />hand out at the next meeting. <br />2) Certified Local Governments <br />Ms. Kiemnec indicated that Mr. Nimtz had reviewed the <br />proposed state regulations for the Certified Local <br />Governments program. She asked If any of the commissioners <br />had additional comments or questions and if not, she will <br />draft a letter to the State Division of Historic Preservation <br />with our comments. She indicated that she had sent a brief <br />synopsis of the program to the County Commissioners and the <br />Mayor and offered to answer any questions they might have. <br />3) Industrial Buildings Project <br />. Ms. Kiemnec indicated that she had done a mailing to several <br />local fraternal groups, bank presidents, the School <br />Corporation, and the South Bend Library to explain the <br />Industrial Building Slide Project and offer it as a program <br />for their meetings. <br />• <br />4) Darden Bridge <br />Ms. Straw reported that an application to the National <br />Register of Historic Places for the Darden Bridge was <br />submitted on October 29, 1984. It will most likely be before <br />the Review Board at their January meeting. <br />7. Old Business <br />No Report <br />8. New Business <br />a. Nominating Committee <br />Mr. Oxian reported that Mrs. Sporleder appointed Mr. Nimtz as <br />chairperson of the Nominating Committee. Mr. Nimtz appointed <br />Mrs. Choitz and Mr. Newburn as members of his committee. They <br />will meet and give their report for the January meeting. <br />4 <br />
