Historic Districts <br />Ms. Kiemnec read a letter from Paul Crowley, President of .the Edgewater Place <br />Neighborhood Association, regarding replacement of the third member of the <br />Edgewater Place Historic District .Li;ason Committee. (See Appendix A.) Mr.. <br />Oxian made a motion to refer the matter to the Historic District Committee; <br />Mrs. DeLaruelle seconded;motion carried; Mrs. Sporleder voted nay. <br />c. Historic Landmarks <br />1) Report on Oliver School <br />Mr. Oxian reported that Oliver School has been declared a landmark by the <br />Common Council. <br />2) 615 W. Colfax <br />Mr. John Ford, representing Christopher Batalis, explained his client's <br />intention to purchase the property at 615 W. Colfax, have it certified as <br />a historic structure contributing to the West Washington National Register <br />Historic District, and donate a facade easement on the building. He <br />requested on behalf of his client that the Historic Preservation Commission <br />write a letter to the Area Plan Commission stating ';a. -favorable position <br />on the proposed zoning change from B residential to C-1 commercial. Mr. <br />Nimtz moved that the action of the Commission concerning the premises at <br />615 W. Colfax on October 181 1982 be rescinded and expunged from the record. <br />Mr. Hayes seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Hayes made <br />a motion that the Historic Preservation Commission send a letter to Area <br />Plan.stating that the Historic Preservation Commission has no objections <br />to the zoning change; Mr. Nimtz seconded; motion carried; Mrs. Sporleder <br />abstained. <br />d. Legal <br />1) Preservation Law Reporter <br />Mr. Butler, the Commission's attorney, recommended that, the Commission <br />continue its subscription to the Preservation Law Reporter. Mr. Oxian made a <br />motion that the HPC purchase the PLR: Mr. Nimtz seconded; motion passed. <br />
