Environmental Impact Statement 1) Certificate of Appropriateness for 701 Portage Avenue Ms. Choitz explained that the Civic Theatre wishes to add signage and lighting to the exterior of the building. Mr. Hayes made a motion that the Certificate of Appropriateness be approved; Mr. Nimtz seconded; motion passed. 2) Certificate of Appropriateness for 701 West LaSalle Ms. Kiemnec reported that Mr. and Mrs. Brookins wished to erect a picket fence around the perimeter of their rear yard to match the one in the front. Mr. Oxian made a motion to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness; Mr. Nimtz seconded; motion passed. g. Staff Report 1) Small Town Survey Ms. Kiemnec introduced Peg Fackelman, the Commission's new secretary, and reported that work on the Small Town Survey is progressing well. 2) Conferences Ms. Kiemnec reported that the Fourteenth Annual Indiana Conference on Historic Preservation will be held in Bloomington on September 17 and 18. Mr. Nimtz moved that the Commission pay $36.50 for registration and three conference - sponsored meals for Ms. Kiemnec to attend the confer- ence; Mrs. DeLaruelle seconded; motion passed. Ms. Kiemnec further reported that the National Trust Annual Conference will be held October 6 -10 in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Hayes made a motion that the Commission pay $75.00 for Ms. Kiemnec's registration and that the remaining $87.50 in that account be used for partial registration fees for any other Commission members who wished to attend. Mrs. DeLaruelle seconded; motion carried. 7. Old Business a. Downtown Buildings the - Ms. Kiemnec reported that /Ordinance pertaining to Downtown Buildings will be submitted to the Common Council in time for First Reading on August 23, 1982. b. County Maps Mr. Oxian reported he had discussed the matter of re -doing the County Auto Tour Guides with Southhold Restoration and the Board asked that items such as type of paper, format and cost be discussed and decided on first. The matter was delegated to the Public Relations and Community Education Committee and a meeting will be set up with Southhold. 8. New Business a. Ten -Year Anniversary Ms. Kiemnec suggested that since 1983 is the HPC's ten -year anniversary, some type of celebration or ceremony might be planned.
