NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />C. continued... <br />from Michigan Street and the alley. 7) The <br />staff recommends that a defined list of retail <br />trades, excerpted from the Standard Industrial <br />Classification of Retail Trade, be approved as <br />the required uses for the retail space. Any <br />exception to this list would need to be <br />approved by the Redevelopment Commission. <br />8) The staff also recommends that businesses in <br />the retail space adhere to the following items: <br />all tenants adhere to uniform hours, matching <br />those at the College Football Hall of Fame; all <br />storefront windows have lights on a timer that <br />will remain on until 1:00 a.m.; interior lighting <br />will be incandescent, uniform in color, and <br />invisible from the outside; uniform sign and <br />lighting parameters; no temporary or hand <br />made signs visible from the outside; storefront <br />windows are to be used for quality window <br />displays; and each landlord shall supply off - <br />street parking for all employees. <br />The staff recommends accepting the proposal <br />from South Bend Heritage Foundation, subject <br />to review of final design and subject to the <br />limitations on renting the retail space as stated. <br />Mr. Hunt suggested that tenants not be <br />required to have uniform hours, but, instead, <br />minimum hours. He also suggested that the <br />hours not be tied to the Hall of Fame.
