October 19, 1981 page 5 e. Public Relations and Community Education (1 ) Summary Report Ms. Kiemnec read a report from John Stamper on the progress of the Summary Report. In his letter, Mr. Stamper had in- dicated that the Summary Report should be ready for the printer by November 1. Ms. Kiemnec estimated that the completion of the Report may be December 1st. Mrs. Price suggested that the Commission might begin making plans for the Sum- mary Report's Release. (2) The Architectural Guidebook Mrs. Price reported that a meeting attended by herself, Jim Mullins, Leslie Choitz, Joann Sporleder and Karen Kiemnec, was held on October 9 to discuss the possible publication of an architectural guidebook. The results of the meeting were that both the Commission and Southhold Restorations would further discuss the publication with their boards with regards to marketing potential, funding possibilities and the audience that the book would be directed to. Mrs. Price suggested that the Commission might get counsel or advice from publishers in the area. Ms. Derbeck stated that the Northern Indiana Historical Society might be consulted about publishing. Mr. Oxian indicated that Southhold Restor- ations gave a tentative approval to the original proposal presented to them by John Stamper and Joann Sporleder. He further stated that he agreed that Southhold Restorations and the Historic Preservation Commission continue discussion on the book. Mrs. Sporleder suggested that the Commission might contact John Gilette in Niles for advice about publishing and that there is a need to identify the market. f. Environmental Impact Statement (1) Certificate of Appropriateness -557 Edgewater Carol Mooney and George Efta wish to reroof their garage with shingles of similar color and style. Galvanized metal flanking will be replaced or duplicated and two skylights will be added on the east and south sides which will not be seen from the street. Ms. Kiemnec recommended that the Com- mission give its approval. Mr. Oxian made a motion that the Certificate of Appropriateness be approved, Mrs. Sporleder seconded, motion passed. g. Staff Report (1) Small Town Survey Report Ms. Kiemnec reported that one or two days in Walkerton would complete the fieldwork in that town. She also indi-
