The owners of the property have requested a delay in the order <br />until they are able to sell the property. Mr. Stamper read four alternative <br />solutions: <br />1. Allow demolition. <br />2. Have the Commission staff work with Southold Heritage/HFLI/ <br />Redevelopment Monroe -Sample project team to study potential <br />uses design criteria for both sides of Lincolnway. <br />3. Market all four houses for moving to another location within <br />Edgewater or Monroe -Sample areas. Work with owners on design of <br />new building. <br />4. Delay demolition until property is sold. <br />Mr. Was ielewski moved that the Commission request a stay of demolition of <br />the house at 609 Lincolnway East and the garage at 601 Lincolnway East for <br />one year, until alternative solutions can be reached. Mr. Oxian seconded <br />the motion. Mrs. Sporleder gave a negative vote. The Motion passed. <br />Mrs. Sporleder moved that we proceed with alternatives 2 & 3 of the site <br />inspection report at 601 Lincolnway East. It was seconded by Mr. Newburn. <br />Mr. Oxian gave a negative vote. The motion carried. <br />Mr. Stamper brought the Commission up to date on the possible fence <br />violation at 701 East Bronson. Mr. Stamper.and Mr. Oxian stated that <br />construction of the fence was started before the implementation of the <br />District Ordinance, and a letter was received from the owner stating that <br />he started construction before the ordinance. Mr. Oxian moved that the <br />Commission suspend action on the fence issue. It was seconded by Mr. <br />Wasielewski and it passed. <br />A review of the letter sent to 553 Edgewater Drive, a request by Gina <br />DeLaurelle to put a railroad tie wall up at the edge of the river. It <br />was recommended that the residents of Edgewater Drive write the Department <br />of Natural Resources and the Army Corps of Engineers to find a solution to <br />the problem. <br />Historic Landmarks <br />Mr. Stamper presented the house at 1005 W. Washington for first reading <br />for designation as a Historic Landmark. Mrs. Derbeck pointed out that <br />this house was possibly the birthplace of sculptor George Rickey. Because <br />of the historical interest and the restoration that has been done, the <br />Commission recommended that the house be re -ranked from 11 to 12. <br />Legal <br />Mr. Stamper reported that letters for ordinance certification written by <br />the Mayor and the County Commissioners had to be rewritten to include <br />additional information. <br />Mr. Stamper stated that he had called Mr. Gaylen Allsop about ordinance <br />amendments and that Mr. Allsop would complete the work soon.
