October 18, 1976 <br />Page 3 <br />informed that it covered mileage by the HPC staff to <br />cover items such as trips to check out surveyed structures. <br />Mr. Nimtz made a motion that the budget allocation for <br />the City Survey be submitted. Mr. Oxian seconded this <br />motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Wasielewski informed the Commission that the Com- - <br />mittee is going forth with the drawing up of specifica- <br />tions or guidelines for a bid on the City Survey. He <br />said hopefully they will have something definite in this <br />area at the next meeting. <br />Budget and Finance <br />Mr. Oxian had no report at this time from this committee. <br />Historic Districts <br />There was no report from this committee. <br />Historic Landmarks - <br />Mr. Oxian made a motion that the Commission hold a dis- <br />tribution of plaques to the homeowners in the County <br />whose homes have been declared Historic Landmarks with <br />the permission of the County Council, during some County <br />Council session. He also wants plaques distributed to <br />the Coy house, the Darden Bridge and plaques for the 2nd. <br />and 3rd County Courthouses. A reception, if it can be <br />arranged, should also be given after the plaque ceremony. <br />Mr. Rothermel seconded this motion and it passed unani- <br />mously. <br />Mr. Oxian then made a motion to declare the J. P. Huff <br />residence at 50106 Bittersweet Road an Historic Landmark.- <br />He <br />andmark.He said the landmark designation would include a barn and <br />a little smokehouse. Ms. Sporleder seconded this motion <br />and. it passed unanimously. <br />He then asked to have the former fire station on Notre <br />Dame Avenue declared an Historic Landmark within -the <br />city. He stated that it was built between 1903 - 1904 <br />and there have been no alterations. He stated that he <br />had received a letter from the Administration via Peter <br />Mullin, Controller, giving approval. Mr. Oxian, there- <br />fore, made a motion that this station be declared an <br />Historic Landmark. Mr. Rothermel seconded this motion. <br />Ms. Sporleder suggested that a Survey Card be filled out <br />on this structure. The motion was put to a vote and it <br />passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Oxian then suggested a meeting of the Landmarks <br />Committee and begin the formality of appointing a Review <br />Board and the drafting of a Certificate of Appropriateness. <br />He stated that homeowners of Landmarks must procure such &- <br />certificate in case of any renovations.
