October 18, 1976 <br />Page 2 <br />Postage charges for September $ 14.14 <br />Duplicating charges for September 3.90 <br />Lake Shore Markers for <br />United Parcel Service charges 2.48 <br />Business Systems for supplies 1.88 <br />Schillings for photography 12.75 <br />Rita M. Kopezynski for services <br />rendered for October 1,000.00 <br />Mr. Oxian wanted clarification of the photography item and <br />he was informed that slides and enlargements had been made <br />of the W. W. Brick home on Rosewood Road. <br />Mr. Ted Wasielewski moved that the Treasurer's Report be ac- <br />cepted as submitted and the bills approved for payment. Mr. <br />Oxian seconded this motion and it passed unanimously. <br />5. Correspondence <br />Ms. Kopezynski informed the Commission that a letter had been <br />sent to Mr. Cloud and to the Bureau of Highways regarding the <br />fault in the pavement near Mr. Gerald Kline's home. A reply <br />from Mr. Gantz was read which stated, in part, "there is little <br />that the State Historic Preservation Officer can do unless a <br />proposed construction project is federally funded, assisted, or <br />licensed." A copy of this letter was sent to Mr. Kline. There <br />was no report from the State Highway Commission regarding this <br />matter. <br />Ms. Kopezynski then read a letter received on September 27 from <br />Mr. Jack Dunfee, Jr. regarding his status as a retainer until <br />December 31, 1976. <br />Mr. Jack Smith mentioned that a letter was received from Ronald <br />D. Bock, Director of the River Bend Plaza regarding Christmas <br />holiday parade festivities in Downtown South Bend and asking <br />participation from the Historic Preservation Commission. It was <br />decided not to participate in these activities at this time. <br />Copies of two legal notices that appeared in the South Bend <br />Tribune were then passed around. <br />6. Committee Reports <br />City Survey <br />Mr. Ted Wasielewski made a motion for formal approval of <br />the tentative allocation of monies for the City Survey. <br />The budget is as follows: <br />Contractural Architectural Assistance $ 10,000.00 <br />Additional Professional Assistance 1,000.00 <br />Supplies 900.00 <br />Travel 100.00 <br />$12,000.00 <br />Mr. Oxian asked what the item for "Travel" entailed and was <br />
