March 9, 1976 <br />Page 4 <br />Ms. Davisson then informed the Commission that the suggestion to <br />keep a set of State Forms in the office is being cancelled. <br />She next spoke about the possibility of preparing a pamphlet on the <br />County Survey findings. TheVie was discussion on just what sort of <br />brochure was involved. Ms. Davisson said this matter would be re- <br />ferred to the Committee again. She also suggested that Mrs. Spor- <br />leder should work on this Conmli.ttee. The target date for this pam- <br />phlet would be sometime in October. <br />Ms. Davisson then spoke about the possiblity of obtaining a summer <br />intern for historical research. She suggested that Mr. Rinderle <br />look into this and also contact Dr. Tom Schlereth regarding an in- <br />tern for the Fall semester. Mr. Oxian made a motion that the Com- <br />mission obtain the services of an intern from Notre Dame. Mrs. <br />Sporleder seconded this motion and it passed unanimously. <br />It was also suggested that Dr. Thomas Schlereth be contacted in re- <br />gard to a copy of the architectural survey of Notre Dame. <br />Ms. Davisson spoke about setting up publicity with the news media <br />and Mr. John Oxian informed the Commission that he has the names of <br />some individuals that can be contacted regarding this matter. <br />Next Ms. Davisson spoke about the Auto Tour. She said the homeowners <br />of historic homes would be contacted to determine the possibility of <br />having their home placed on the tour map. The target date would be <br />Historic Preservation Week in early May. Ms. Davisson made a motion <br />r that the Auto Tour for Superior Homes be approved and that the Pub- <br />lic Relations Committee make the decision for the designer and the <br />printer for the map. This motion was seconded by Mr. Al Stivers.— <br />It was put to a vote and the motion passed with Mr. John Oxian ab- <br />staining. A discussion followed in which it was decided that the <br />homes would be listed by addresses on:yy on the Auto Tour map. <br />Consultant's Report <br />Mr. Rinderle distributed a proposed form foi.the City Survey and <br />suggested that this be used when the City Survey is undertaken. <br />He then mentioned that Mrs. Goff has done a lengthy history of Harris <br />township, and that the Commission should co-operate with her to make <br />the material available. He also said that owners of a log cabin on <br />Beech Road wanted volunteers to help restore this structure. Mr. <br />Oxian said the Commission could inform other organizations or uni- <br />versities about such help. <br />Presidential Report <br />Mr. Smith announced that he and Commission members had received a <br />letter of resignation from Tobi Christianson. He mentioned that <br />he and the staff had conducted some interviews and have a possible <br />candidate for this position. <br />
