July 13, 1976 <br />Page 4 <br />this property be declared a landmark by ordinance. Ms. Sporleder <br />seconded this motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Legal <br />Mr. F. Jay Nimtz; stated that he had referred a draft of a <br />manual procedure for contracts and purchases to Mr.Kevin <br />Butler, the County Attorney, for perusal and consideration. <br />There has not been further action in this matter. <br />Public Relations and Education <br />Ms. Davisson remarked that the Commission had voted to donate <br />two framed pictures for the foyer of the Area Plan Commission <br />for the gracious use of their facilities. Air. Nimtz suggested <br />that the Area Plan Commission choose their own pictures. <br />Ms. Davisson then remarked on the recent meeting of the Histor- <br />ic Preservation Commission meeting at which time the priorities <br />of the Commission were discussed, and Ms. Kopczynski distributed <br />copies of these priorities as rendered by Ms. Judy Studer. <br />Ms. Davisson voiced the need for formulating the specifications <br />for the City Survey. Ms. Sporleder had done preliminary work <br />on setting priorities and goals for the survey. <br />Ms. Davisson then said the committee is working on a procedural— <br />manual <br />roceduralmanual and Mr. Oxian is devising a procedure for landmark desig- <br />nation. <br />Ms. Davisson mentioned that, in regard to the State grant of <br />$5,000, the Commission is still working on a tally of the bills <br />incurred in the completion of the County Survey. The actual <br />appropriation was discussed and Ms. Kopczynskk;,remarked that <br />this sum could be carried over to the following year. <br />Ms. Davisson then discussed a proposed article that perhaps Jeanne <br />Derbeck could write on the need for obtaining qualified craftsmen <br />for the restoration of old houses, and mentioned that Ms. Sporleder <br />was also involved in this effort. Ms. Kopczynski discussed a con- <br />templated packet that would include ideas and suggestions for re- <br />storing old homes. <br />14s. Davisson said she is putting together a" Historic Preservation <br />Game" based on the state forms and she will have a prototype of <br />this at the next meeting. <br />Standards and Historic Plan <br />There was no report. <br />
