February 3, 1976 <br />Page 3 <br />Historic Landmarks <br />This committee has not met recently. It was suggested - <br />that this committee meet with Brian Cruml.ish on Wednes- -- <br />day, February 11, at 4:30 p.m. at his office. (The meet- <br />ing was later changed to February 17th). <br />Legal Committee <br />Due to Mr. F. Jay Nimtz's absence, there was no report -- <br />from this committee. Mr. Rinderle said that he gave in- <br />formation on tax incentives for historic homes to Mr. <br />Nimtz to peruse. <br />Public'_Relations and Education <br />Ms. Davisson was not present and there was no report <br />from this committee. <br />President's Report <br />Mr. Smith reported that in a meeting with Dick Johnson <br />he was informed that there is a possibility that a County <br />Zoning Administrator may be hired. And if that came about, <br />he would need the office space now occupied by the Historic <br />Pteservation Commission staff. Mr. Catanzarite remarked <br />that the question of a zoning administrator is a contro- <br />versidl. issue. <br />Mr. Smith discussed the meeting with the Park Avenue <br />group at the Ludwick home along with Ms. Joanne Sporleder. <br />He felt there was a very good exchange of ideas and atti-. <br />tudes, and the area was reviewed as a possibility for the <br />National Register. Mr. Smith urged that the avenue of <br />communication be kept open. <br />Mr. Smith next enumerated several points that the presi- <br />dent of the Commission should consider in fulfilling his <br />duties. He felt there should be better comm?nication <br />among Commission members. He also voiced a need to conduct <br />caucus meetings and weekly meetings with the Consultant. <br />He further stressed that the Area Plan Commission could <br />give some of the background of its proposed new zoning <br />ordinance to the Consultant. Pic. Smith also noted that <br />the committees should meet with the Consultant and develop <br />projects and recommendations so that the Commission can <br />act upon them. <br />Consultant's Report <br />Mr. Rinderle agreed that more communication between com- <br />mittees and the staff was needed and suggested that the <br />staff be invited to all committee meetings. He suggested <br />that committees take action'on proposed projects, so'these <br />can be placed ,on a master work list and be completed.
