The case was now re- set for.January 26, 1977, at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Nimtz next voiced his concerns with Mr. Jack Dunfee and Xr. Smith informed the Commission that he (Mr. Dunfee) had resigned from the Commission. He had received a letter from Mr. Dunfee asking that his services be terminated. Mr. Smith said.that - after talking with several of the Commission members it was de- cided.to accept Mr. Dunfee's resignation.effective December 31, 1976. Public Relations and Education Ms. Davisson spoke about the recent Near Northwest Neighborhood - Heritage Awareness program and stressed that it was most success- ful. She said the Commission had received the results of their survey of significant homes in the near northwest and about 40 survey cards had been completed. Ms. Davisson then informed.the Commission that she and Ms. Rita - Kopczynski have compiled a grant proposal applying to the Nation- al Trust for $4,800 matching funds to carry on the Commission's program of curriculum development in the area schools. She said the monies would be used to ---print a package of visual materials and the game, Architecture - American Style. Ms. Davisson had, brought copies of these materials and a prototype of the game to the meeting and explained their merits and,function. She said another part of this proposal involved a manual of local historical houses which have a description written about them. Ms. Sally Hen- dricks has also developed a package using felt pieces and the facades of homes. She said that Mr. Tom Schlereth of Notre Dame was in- volved in this enterprise and that one of his students, Mitzie Audette, haddone some historical research. Ms. Kopczynski, fur- thermore, had written a leaflet, "How to do the History of Your Home." Ms. Davisson then remarked that the office had received a number of letters of endorsement of this entire proposal; Ms. Ruth Price was very enthusiastic and it was stated that she had taken part of this to the National Trust. Mr. Smith asked if the Commission stood a good chance to have this proposal accepted by the National Trust and he was assured that it had good recommendations. Mr. Tom- Catanzarite then made a motion that the Commission present this pro- posal to the National Trust. Mr. F. Jay Nimtz seconded this and it passed unanimously. Standards and Historic Plan There was no report from this committee. Presidential Report Mr. Smith announced the reception of a letter of resignation by --- Ms. Joann Sporleder. Her resignation was accepted with great re- gret by Mr. Smith and members of the Commission.
