The case was now re- <br />set for.January 26, 1977, at 10:00 a.m. <br />Mr. Nimtz next voiced his concerns with Mr. Jack Dunfee and Xr. <br />Smith informed the Commission that he (Mr. Dunfee) had resigned <br />from the Commission. He had received a letter from Mr. Dunfee <br />asking that his services be terminated. Mr. Smith said.that - <br />after talking with several of the Commission members it was de- <br />cided.to accept Mr. Dunfee's resignation.effective December 31, 1976. <br />Public Relations and Education <br />Ms. Davisson spoke about the recent Near Northwest Neighborhood - <br />Heritage Awareness program and stressed that it was most success- <br />ful. She said the Commission had received the results of their <br />survey of significant homes in the near northwest and about 40 <br />survey cards had been completed. <br />Ms. Davisson then informed.the Commission that she and Ms. Rita - <br />Kopczynski have compiled a grant proposal applying to the Nation- <br />al Trust for $4,800 matching funds to carry on the Commission's <br />program of curriculum development in the area schools. She said <br />the monies would be used to ---print a package of visual materials <br />and the game, Architecture - American Style. Ms. Davisson had, <br />brought copies of these materials and a prototype of the game <br />to the meeting and explained their merits and,function. She said <br />another part of this proposal involved a manual of local historical <br />houses which have a description written about them. Ms. Sally Hen- <br />dricks has also developed a package using felt pieces and the facades <br />of homes. She said that Mr. Tom Schlereth of Notre Dame was in- <br />volved in this enterprise and that one of his students, Mitzie <br />Audette, haddone some historical research. Ms. Kopczynski, fur- <br />thermore, had written a leaflet, "How to do the History of Your <br />Home." Ms. Davisson then remarked that the office had received a <br />number of letters of endorsement of this entire proposal; Ms. Ruth <br />Price was very enthusiastic and it was stated that she had taken <br />part of this to the National Trust. Mr. Smith asked if the Commission <br />stood a good chance to have this proposal accepted by the National <br />Trust and he was assured that it had good recommendations. Mr. Tom- <br />Catanzarite then made a motion that the Commission present this pro- <br />posal to the National Trust. Mr. F. Jay Nimtz seconded this and it <br />passed unanimously. <br />Standards and Historic Plan <br />There was no report from this committee. <br />Presidential Report <br />Mr. Smith announced the reception of a letter of resignation by --- <br />Ms. Joann Sporleder. Her resignation was accepted with great re- <br />gret by Mr. Smith and members of the Commission. <br />
